Meet the Council

Mima Hillier - ARP Chairman

Mima Hillier is the founder and Managing Director of TTH Relocation Management. Mima founded the company in 1996, and provides services across the UK and in her native Finland. Mima attended the ARP’s Fundamentals of Relocation seminar back in 1996, and has gone on to build a highly successful Relocation Company. Mima is the Chairman of the ARP and is currently studying for her MBA at Henley Management College. She is the ARP representative on the Executive Board of the EARP and a member of the Training Committee. Mima has also achieved her CERP2, one of the first twenty in Europe to have acheived this designation.

Alastair Grant

Alastair joined UK Relocation Services Ltd in 1998. He is now Senior Negotiator, dealing with all aspects of destination services, at grass-roots level and on a consultancy basis, for a spectrum of inbound and outbound clients. He has thus developed strong relationships with clients and providers on the domestic and the international stage. Alastair is involved with day to day client liaison.

James Greenwood

James is a Managing Partner of Stacks Property Services and Acquisition, one the UK’s leading specialists in private client acquisition. James joined Stacks after a career in the City and a second career in research in Asia and the Middle East. James has been actively involved in the ARP for many years and is a fervent supporter of the ARP’s training initiatives. In joining the ARP council James is following a family tradition. His father Paul Greenwood was one of the original founding members of the ARP and a past Chairman.

Stuart Mitchell

Stuart Mitchell MIHT, MCIM, MBA, is the Senior Partner of Business Moves Advisory Centre, a leading relocation consultancy and service provider. His experience dates back to the 1970’s and he has planned and managed relocation projects in the UK and overseas for countless clients both in the private sector and in the public sector.

Carla Roundell-Greene

Carla Roundell-Greene is the managing director of People and Property Relocation based in Chelsea. Carla is a founding member of the ARP and has served as the Chairman of the Council. Carla was an important figure in the creation of the ARP and has supported its activities since it was founded in 1986. People and Property was one of the first relocation companies to set up in London and Carla has been influential in guiding the activities of the Association.

Edna Smith

Edna is the Development Director for SIRVA. Edna has over fifteen years experience in the relocation industry, working with clients across all industry sectors. Edna worked with Rowan Simmons, managing destination services for international moves inbound to the UK. She then became responsible for all outbound services worldwide. Following the acquisition of Rowan Simmons by SIRVA Edna was asked to bring her significant industry experience and flair to the post of Development Director. Edna has been a supporter of the ARA for many years, sponsoring and supporting ARA training and events. Edna is currently working with the Conference Committee on the ARA Conference 2005 and was one of the first four people in Europe to gain her CERP1.

Barry Potter

Barry Potter is the General Manager of the European Branch of TheMIGroup – an independent relocation management consultancy firm with offices in the UK, North America and Asia.

Barry has over 13 years of experience dealing with all aspects of expatriate and relocation management – from candidate selection and policy development to repatriation. During this time he has worked as a provider of relocation services; an HR manager responsible for the international deployment of internal staff and as an independent consultant advising on best practice. He has also spent time as an expatriate himself in the USA.

Barry joined TheMIGroup in October 2002 to drive the company’s expansion plans in Europe by building on their success in relocation management services within North America through delivery of the same range of quality products, true single point of coordination delivery model and personal service to our European clients.

Martin Humphrys

Martin Humphrys was educated at Downing College Cambridge where he obtained joint honours in History and Theological and Religious Studies.

Martin was appointed to Eastbourne College in 1979 to teach history and to run the Crew programme. He then joined the staff at Bedford School in 1983 where throughout his time he became Day and Boarding Housemaster, Master in Charge of Rowing, Head of the Cadet Forces, Head of Political Studies and Marketing Manager.

Also in Bedford Martin became Leader of the largest political group on Bedford Borough Council, was appointed Chairman of the Bedfordshire Committee for the Employment of the Disabled by the Secretary of State, became Chairman of the Kitchin Society (Masters in Charge of Crew programmes of all the major Rowing Schools in the UK) and served on numerous Cadet Force Committees for which he was granted the right by the Ministry of Defence to retain the rank of Squadron Leader in civilian life.

On leaving Bedford Martin took up the role of General Manager of the University of Westminster Student Union – the third largest University in the country in terms of Student numbers and some 13 sites. He then joined a relocation company to run their educational arm before establishing his own educational consultancy.

Martin has acted as Educational Consultant for most members of the Investment Forum (leading banks within the City of London), advises the Association of Relocation Agents on Educational matters, chairs conferences for the London International Schools Association and has advised the State Department (US) of the position of schools here within the UK. He is an Independent Member of the European Council of International Schools. Martin is a member of the Institute of Directors. He has a background of some twenty years in placing students in both Schools and Universities and is a Council Member of the Association of Relocation Professionals.

He continues to enjoy his sport of rowing, is a qualified umpire and Chairman of the Thames Regional Rowing Council; he is member of the Stewards’ Enclosure at Henley Royal Regatta and a member of Leander Club for services to Junior International Rowing.

Lorna Keen

Lorna Keen is Head of Business Development for Clarendon Serviced Apartments - Clarendon established in 1989, Lorna joined in 1999 to assist in establishing Clarendon as a pan London serviced apartment provider.

Lorna is actively involved in promoting the serviced apartment industry and is a founder member and chairman of ASAP, The Association of Serviced Apartment Provdiers, a division of ARP, actively working towards a reciprocal agreement for ASAP with the Corporate Housing Providers Association (CHPA) USA to further promote corporate housing and serviced apartments globally.  Lorna is also working with Quality and Tourism, the organisation responsible for the main "Star" rating system for hotels and serviced apartments in the UK, and Visit Britain (the new name for the British Tourist Board.)  This will be the first serviced apartments programme for the industry in the world.

Lorna is also an active committee member within ERC EMEA, the US association for workforce mobility.

Peter Grayburn

Peter Grayburn started working in the property industry in 1968 and become involved in Relocation in 1979. He is a partner in PRS Consultants who specialise in a) analysis and assessment of the difference in housing costs in different locations around the UK and between the Uk abroad, and b) the provision of bespoke, interactive area information guides.  He is a member of both The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and the National Association of Estate Agents.  

Carolyn Sim

Carloyn Sim is the Operations Director of Roomservice.

Judith Waterhouse

Judith Waterhouse is Managing Director of Arden Relocation, based in Birmingham.
